Author Bio

Apart from times overseas, Ray Keipert lived in various Sydney suburbs prior to retiring north with his wife Léonie in 2013. After joining his local University of the Third Age Writers’ group, Ray was motivated to write short stories and poems, contributing to the group’s book publication project. A number of his short stories have received awards in literary competitions, including second place in 148 entries.

In 2020 Ray co-published an edition of 20 fictional short stories, Life’s Winners... and a Few Losers, followed by the 2021 publication of five longer stories in Five in the Quiver. Some of these were sequels to events and characters in his first book. In 2023, he published A Hand of Aces, two novellas in the one volume.

Inspired by the lure of creative writing, Ray continues to plan and prepare further books.

The Iron Curtain has clanged down across post-war Europe, and the Red Army is entrenched in the very heart of Germany...

Tyrannical communist rule based on state terror begins as the repressive regime launches a campaign of international espionage.

Working against all odds, British lieutenant Ben Fletcher goes undercover to level the score and gain vital nuclear intelligence for the West. Pursuing the same goal, ruthless Stalinist authorities are prepared to pull out all the stops to wreck his mission.

Decades later, Detective-Sergeant Lillian Boyd faces high stakes. A tragically unsolved roadside hit-and-run death spirals into an urgent quest to expose an insidious nest of foreign spies, orchestrated by an ambitious spymaster. Their aim: an audacious coup against an unsuspecting prime minister.

The past may just hold the answers Lillian needs to thwart a conspiracy that threatens to change the balance of political power forever.

“A thrilling ride through espionage and murder that makes the heart race with each page… Excellent!” Colin, Readalot reviewer
